Angie D. Taylor Ph.D., President/CEO
Dr. Angie Taylor has a long history of excellent leadership, people development and community service. She is the President and Chief Executive Officer for Guardian Quest, Inc., an organization specializing in providing diversity/inclusion, leadership and organizational development training and consulting solutions for educational, governmental, corporate and military clients across North America. In addition to her work speaking, training and coaching, she continues to serve her community. In December of 2014, she was appointed to the Washoe County School District Board of Trustees, becoming the first African American to serve in that capacity. In January of 2016, she was elected Board President by her Board colleagues and most recently, she was elected by the citizens in District E to serve a full four-year term, beginning in January 2017. Her colleagues selected her to serve a second term as president through 2017.
Regardless of her role, she is committed to adding value and making a difference. She is passionate about a few things and has intentionally positioned herself to work within those areas. Education, diversity/inclusion, leadership, and faith are the areas that she loves and those that have driven her success.
Dr. Angie has an earned doctorate in Educational Leadership (PhD), holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration and Policy (MPA) and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (BS), all from the University of Nevada, Reno. Her background is in higher education where she completed a storied 20-year career at the University of Nevada. While at Nevada, she served in several senior level leadership positions for 17 years.
Dr. Taylor has served on numerous committees, task forces and boards for the University, the local community and nationally. She has received many awards and recognitions for her leadership and community service including membership in four halls of fame and inclusion on two “people to watch” lists.
Angie is a passionate, energetic presenter and has dedicated her life to making people and organizations better. She has recently penned her first book: “Leadership Matters: Lessons that Shaped My Leadership” which is highly sought after wherever she speaks. The Reverend Dr. Taylor is also an ordained minister and serves as the administer ative assistant pastor at Greater Light Christian Center in Reno, Nevada.
Vaughn has been in sales, and the learning and development industry for the past 19 years. He is a dynamic, energetic speaker and trainer and he brings an exciting combination of humor and passion to his speaking engagements. He has over 10 years of experience in performing improvisational comedy in Las Vegas and Los Angeles and uses this unique skill set to engage the corporate audience in a way rarely seen.
Vaughn has helped develop a culture and personal development program for Verizon Wireless South Central Market. Originally starting within the B2B Sales team of 200 people has quickly gained momentum and is now spread to all channels including retail, marketing, operations and learning and development totaling over 5500 employees. Vaughn has conducted workshops and keynotes across the United States and Canada.
Vaughn has most recently given several keynotes at Verizon’s Annual Leadership Summit for B2B, Indirect Sales and Retail. Vaughn is also working with the Phoenix Suns sales team as well as the Garden Collective, a top advertising firm in Toronto, Canada.

Adrienne is an experienced and accomplished learning developer and trainer. She worked in the corporate realm for Health Net Inc. for 10 years, while there, she established herself as a trainer and instructional designer before deciding to become a freelance consultant in the field. Adrienne is certified with Langevin Learning Services, and specializes in Adult Learning theory. In addition, Adrienne operates as the executive strategist and Special Event Coordinator at H.O.P.E.S. House Christian Ministries.
Adrienne is passionate about creating an engaging and interactive learning experience for employers and employees. Her motto is to Strategize, Train, Refine, Innovate, Plan, Engage, Succeed.
Bette Gaines-Snyder joined MGM Grand in 1993 as a Tour Guide and later transitioned to several Human Resources positions including Training Facilitator for New Hire Orientation and adjunct faculty member for the MGM Grand University. As Executive Director of Special Events at MGM Grand Las Vegas. Bette’s responsibilities were a wide array of Casino and Employee-based events. Bette managed over an average of 110 events per year. Served as the primary liaison to all of the property’s departments for the development and implementation employee programs.
Bette served as the MGM Grand Las Vegas Diversity Council Co-Chair for four years. As a pioneer in the diversity effort for the Company, Bette led MGM Grand’s Diversity Council which was placed in the Top 25 U.S. Diversity Council Groups by the Association of Diversity Councils two years in a row. She was integral in creating employee campaigns, raising more than $800,000 annually for the MGM Resorts Foundation. Bette also served on the UNLV Mentor program for three years and was voted outstanding mentor.
As Executive Director of Special Events Bette led the creative productions of elaborate and complex corporate events such as the Women’s Leadership Conference of over 1200 attendees, Diversity Recharges, MGM Resorts Foundation Festival events and fundraising, Employee of the year Galas and New Year’s Eve celebrations.
Bette was a key contributor to MGM Resorts International’s Inspiring Our World employee production show. She was also the recipient of MGM Resorts International’s first-ever J. Terrence Lanni Award for Excellence, the highest honor bestowed on an MGM Resorts’ employee.
Currently, Bette works as a Smith Center Teaching Artist for the Disney Musicals in Schools program. She is a founding member of the Yellow Pants Project, a 501c3, which provides anti-bullying education through the arts. Bette brings her passion and enthusiasm to the Guardian Quest team in her role as support specialist.
Mary Ann Sena-Edelen
As the Regional Director of Patient Experience for OptumCare, Mary Ann is responsible for enterprise wide strategies, leveraging compassionate culture in alignment with the execution of Optum’s values, of Integrity, Compassion, Relationships, Innovation, and Performance.
Mary Ann brings a wealth of guest service and leadership experience to the healthcare industry. She is a certified professional coach and master facilitator in the topic of diversity and inclusion, employee engagement, leadership and organizational development, elevating the employee experience, patient service enhancement, and innovation. She partners with Southwest Medical professionals and providers in the delivery of our C-I-CARE Service Philosophy and other programs and initiatives that promote improvements in our healthcare delivery system.
Previous to this role her career in hospitality began in 1993, Sena-Edelen has earned more than 22 years of experience with various properties and the corporate division of MGM Resorts. Most recently, she served as the Director of Guest Experience at MGM Grand, where she was responsible for analysis of guest satisfaction metrics and development of strategies to improve the property’s guest service scores; implementation of guest feedback; and development and oversight of guest recovery response tools. She also worked closely with that property’s Training and Communications teams to ensure effective practice of MGM Grand’s guest service excellence training program “Entertain.”
Prior to that, Sena-Edelen worked as Corporate Director of Diversity Regional Sales, in which she pursued bookings for MGM Resorts properties of conventions and large meetings of diversity organizations. Sena-Edelen’s previous positions also include Director of Diversity & Training at Monte Carlo, where she oversaw all areas of training and incorporation of diversity into all aspects of the resort’s daily operations; and Senior Diversity Leadership Manager for the Corporate Diversity Leadership Education program. As a special assignment Sena-Edelen facilitated pre-opening training of MGM Grand Sanya employees in the MGM Resorts mission, vision, values and culture, including diversity and inclusion.
Sena-Edelen earned her Bachelor of Arts Business Management from Western Governors University. She earned her AA degree in Hotel Restaurant Business Management with casino emphasis from CSN, and her Federal Communications Commission licenses at the National School of Broadcasting and also attended the University of Utah majoring in Communications. Sena-Edelen is a Certified Master Trainer of the MGM Resorts Diversity Champion Workshop, Certified Training Professional, Certified Diversity Meeting Professional and a Certified Trainer of Stephen Covey’s Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, and a licensed leadership consultant for Guardian Quest.
Mary Ann has been active in local philanthropy programs, supporting her commitment to helping her community and principles of Servant Leadership; including implementation of a Adopt-A-Family programs at five of MGM Resorts properties, and as a steering committee member of The MGM Resorts Foundation. Beyond that, she volunteers for an array of community activities and organizations, among them leadership coaching & UNLV student counseling, Dress for Success Women’s organization, Nevada Latino Youth Organization the Safe Nest women’s shelter, the Boys and Girls Club of Southern Nevada, Best Buddies and the US Vets housing facility.
Dr. Naida M. Parson, Communications Specialist
Dr. Naida M. Parson is a native of Las Vegas, Nevada and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Black Studies from the University of California, Riverside. She has also earned a Master of Arts Degree in African-American Studies with emphasis in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles as well as a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Nevada, Reno. Dr. Parson is the first African-American in Nevada to be licensed as a Psychologist and has done individual, family, group, and couples therapy for over 25 years.
Dr. Parson is active in the community as a riveting motivational speaker, seminar instructor, writer, mentor, pastor and religious leader. She has been called upon to address audiences from 200 to 5000 including the NAACP, Urban Chamber of Commerce, Educational Foundation, National Black Public Administrators, and the Caucus of African American Nevadans along with various other national, state and local organizations. She also consults and facilitates trainings on various diversity and psychosocial issues including multicultural competency, cultural diversity, ethics and leadership.
What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail? That question has inspired Chisa to get out on the skinny branches and live life to it’s fullest potential.
An accomplished trainer and facilitator, Chisa brings enthusiasm, passion and energy to the Guardian Quest team. Prior to joining GQ, Ms. Golbourne was the Director of Casino Operations at the Excalibur Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. She helped the organization identify problems, pinpoint solutions, ensure customer satisfaction and developed ongoing training programs for over 400 casino employees. She created and facilitated numerous training courses for gaming personnel which focused on cultural shifts, leadership, customer service and building high performance teams.
After facilitating for MGM Resorts International, she decided to touch hearts and minds far beyond the gaming and hospitality industry. Teaching diversity and inclusion has been her passion ever since. That knowledge and experience took her from the gaming realm to teaching and speaking before companies across this nation and beyond.

Originally from New Jersey, Ms. Golbourne earned a Bachelor of Arts in both Psychology and Sociology from Rutgers University. She has delivered training programs for Fortune 500 companies, federal, state and local governments.
Kim Bradshaw, Facilitator / Trainer
Kim Bradshaw recently retired as a Senior Sergeant from the Reno Police Department after nearly 23 years in law enforcement. During her accomplished career, she enjoyed assignments that included working as an undercover Narcotics/Vice Officer, as a Robbery/Homicide Sergeant, a Sex Crimes/Child Abuse Sergeant and a downtown enforcement officer on bicycle.
As a former division one student-athlete, one of Kim’s passions continues to be coaching and training. She has travelled the country facilitating law enforcement workshops on many topics including: Community Policing/Problem Solving, Sex Crimes/Child Abuse, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, and Ethics, Leadership, and Diversity. One of the highlights of her training career was being selected to assist with the design and implementation of the first 7 Habits of Highly Effective Police Officers curriculum at the Covey Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah. Kim has a Bachelor’s degree from University of Nevada. Soon after leaving the University, she joined the Reno Police Department. With her decision to pursue a career in law enforcement, she continued the legacy of her father, retired Reno Chief of Police Robert Bradshaw.
She resides in Reno with her two sons, Kyle (18) and Robbie (13), whom she claims she can still beat in a game of one-on-one basketball! In retirement, Kim enjoys scuba diving with her boys, volunteering for their extracurricular activities, and hiking with her golden retriever, Zoey.
Patty Coaley, Ph.D.
Dr. Coaley has more than 20 years of experience in the gaming industry, where her career spanned from marketing executive to leadership development facilitator. She joined MGM Resorts in 1993, first serving in multiple marketing roles, including Director of Marketing at Excalibur Hotel & Casino.
Her marketing career led her to a role as a leadership facilitator, and she was promoted to Director of Diversity Education at the MGM Resorts University, overseeing MGM Resorts’ Diversity Champion Workshop, which under her leadership facilitated the training and graduation of nearly 6,000 MGM Resorts Diversity Champions. She was also the primary creative force in the development of Inspiring Our World, the company’s first-ever employee show aimed at educating all 62,000 company employees on its mission and core values, as well as its culture of diversity and inclusion, philanthropy, community support and environmental sustainability.
In 2009, Dr. Coaley received the Great Women of Gaming Proven Leader Award by Casino Enterprise Management magazine. She is a Master Graduate of Rapport Leadership International and is a certified facilitator of Franklin Covey’s “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” 3-Day Signature Program and DiSC© Profile.
Dr. Coaley earned her Ph.D. in Global Leadership and Change from Pepperdine University. Her undergraduate work was completed at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she earned a B.A. in Communications Studies with an emphasis in Public Relations and a M.A. in Communications Studies with an emphasis in Mass Media Research.
Ramon Barboza has an extensive background in law enforcement, having served as a dedicated public servant with the Reno Police Department for 25 years. During his time on the force, Ramon honed and utilized his skills in various leadership roles including street patrol, Internal and Community Affairs, the DARE program, and more. In addition, Barboza has a history of successfully training hundreds of police officers internally as well as across the nation and is considered a highly regarded expert in the areas of Community Policing and Problem Solving, Leadership and Diversity.
Ramon’s extensive training background extends well beyond the boundaries of Law Enforcement. In addition to having trained at various levels within police agencies across the nation, he has considerable experience working with community organizations, educational institutions as well as both public and privately held businesses across the country. Ramon has also developed curriculum ranging from technical assistance to theoretical/conceptual models of organizational development.
Along with his vast experience with Guardian Quest, Ramon has provided training and instruction for some of the country’s foremost authorities on Diversity-Centered Leadership including Satori and FrannklinCovey. Regardless of the client, Ramon is noted as being informed and knowledgeable with the ability to provide passionate training and keynote presentations to participants of all ages.
Ramon delights in captivating audiences and moving them towards reaching their highest human potential. “It matters not our challenges,” he believes. “What matters is our deepest level of commitment and desire to make ourselves, someone else or some things better.” Ramon asserts, “The bottom is that WE MATTER! And the greatest part is that WE get to choose what that looks like.” The phrase, “The Power of One Can Create Many” daily influences the personal and professional life of Ramon. As a child who grew up with many disadvantages, Ramon recognizes that his success can be attributed to just a few individuals that gave much of themselves so that, one day, he could give back. He believes that today - and always - is that day!
Jade Wallace, Office Manager
Jade Wallace has a background in financial services consisting of consumer, small business and private banking clients. Jade served as an Assistant Vice President, Banking Center Manager, managed the corporate office as well as area managed several branches and departments over ten years while in corporate banking.
Jade was selected to travel across county to assist in the largest financial merger with Fleet Boston and Bank of America, where she successfully converted and trained over 15 branches in more than 5 states. Jade has an extensive background in banking and financial services. She has a high level of expertise in starting up new business entities, providing financial service for individuals and businesses, creating budgets and monitoring expenses.
Now working independently, Jade takes on the daily and monthly financial and office responsibilities for her clients including: accounts payable/receivables, bookkeeping/QuickBooks, financial audits, payroll, administrative duties, employee on-boarding, logistics support, rental collection and Property Management, and other miscellaneous assignments.
Jade acts as Financial Manager/Office Manager, Project Coordinator and Bookkeeper for several individual, business, and three churches in Reno. Jade is also the Property Manager and bookkeeper for 10 residential units in the Reno/Sparks area.
Jade has her degree in Business Administration and QuickBooks certification in both QBO and Essentials.
Transitioning from entertainment to a more corporate atmosphere she began work with the MGM Resorts Diversity and Inclusion department and the Diversity Champion Workshop. While assisting in the workshops her talents for logistic support and extreme attention to detail came to the forefront. From there she moved into Learning and Development and then Culture and Employee Engagement. One of her highlights while being a part of the Culture and Employee Engagement department was helping to organize the company wide manager and executive training workshop the Leadership Summit. Through this event she had the opportunity to work with local and regional property departments including Human Resources, Food and Beverage, Banquets, Technical Support, Entertainment, Marketing, Special Events, and Learning and Development to name a few.
Giving back to past teachers and working with children is something Jenny’s very passionate about. She always finds time to go back and help her 4th grade teacher by volunteering at Bonner elementary and teaching young kids movement, team work and how to build confidence in themselves in preparation for their Nevada Day performance and their prestigious Etiquette Ball. Another passion of Jenny’s is contributing to Golden Rainbow’s Ribbon of Life. This is a charity event put on through the entertainment community to raise money and help provide housing for individuals with HIV and AIDS. Participating in this since she was 15, Jenny has gone on to create original production numbers for this event and most recently she’s taken on a director role.
Being involved in her community and helping others has always been very dear to her heart. She’s been able to participate in or contribute to numerous outlets and charity events such as Nevada Reading Week, Adopt a Family, Toys for Tots, Help the Homeless and the AFAN Walk a Thon as well as mentoring within the Clark County school district to name a few. Jenny has always strived to be an example and holds herself to the highest standards of professionalism.
Jenny is excited to bring her enthusiasm and outgoing nature to the Guardian Quest team in her role as a support specialist.
Robin Scdoris-Hester, Logistics Coordinator
Robin Scdoris-Hester provides passionate logistical support for the Guardian Quest team. She brings the excitement and enthusiasm to help fulfill her functions and adds value to the organization, in the classroom as well as outside of it. Logistics is a very detailed and precise position that is critical to success of many workshops. Prior to joining the Guardian Quest team, Robin had an 18-year career with the City of Reno Police Department, which included a stint in the Chief's Office for several years. During her tenure, she was the only person to serve in secretarial positions in all divisions of the Department.
Before joining the Reno Police Department, Robin earned her degree and became a practicing paralegal in the Northern Nevada community. Robin is the mother of three daughters and resides in Reno, NV.
